California bankrupt; Eagle inches closer to announcing

With California facing bankruptcy and issuing IOU's, Sam the Eagle has made his most declarative and pronounced statements ever suggesting he will be a strong contender for governor of the Golden State in 2010.

Speaking on MNN, Eagle said that the lack of leadership was "irresponsible and incorrigible" for the millions of Californians who have demanded more and received less. He also said, "we elected Governor Schwarzenegger to change California, and he's changed it for the worst."

Eagle continued by saying that what the Golden State needed were "...real Muppet values." When pressed for a definitive answer as to whether he is running for governor, Eagle said, "We'll see what happens."

We here at Muppet Politics expect an answer soon.
