Today, voters in California voted overwhelmingly against more spending, more budget cuts, and the California government on the whole. This is another nick in the once impregnable armour of governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Meanwhile, Democrats have all seen this is just one more plus in their column of hopes for the 2010 gubernatorial race, allowing their candidate(s) to surpass the eventually Republican nominee next year.
Sam the Eagle was interviewed today and was asked about the votes, the California government as a whole, and his intentions to run in 2010 for either senate or the governor's mansion. His answers were noncommittal, but he did say that "the current problems are a great and terribly example of the incredulous leadership we have been saddled with for too long." When pressed again if he would run for higher office, he said, "lets see what the slate looks like next year."
Sounds like he's mulling over a run. We'll keep you posted.
